The New Jersey’s Lead-based Paint Inspection Law (P.L. 2021 c.182) took effect on Friday, July 22, 2022. Here’s what you need to know from the Lead Inspection experts with over 17 years’ experience.

All rental dwellings units are required to be inspected for lead-based paint. If your home was built before 1978, you may be living among Lead Hazards. Lead is toxic. Lead Hazards maybe found at your home on interior and exterior painted components that may contain lead paint. Paint in poor condition such that is chipping or peeling creates lead dust which can be ingested. Lead Hazards can also be found within drinking water and the soil surrounding your property. Exposure to lead is harmful and cause significant health issues for all ages. Specifically, children under the age of six and pregnant women are at higher risks of lead poisoning in our communities.
