Lead Paint Inspections Service in Philadelphia & South Jersey

Certified lead paint inspection service in Montgomery county, PALead Testing in Montgomery County

Ensure your Montgomery County home is free of dangerous chemicals with lead testing services from Bayhill Environmental. New lead paint laws in Pennsylvania mean that you need to ensure that any property you own is free of this toxic ingredient. Under these laws, all landlords who rent houses or apartments that will be occupied by families with children age six and under must receive a certified lead inspection. Even if you are a homeowner yourself, it’s important to make sure your home is safe for your young children now and in the future.

Why is lead testing so important?

Lead exposure has been linked to nervous system damage, behavioral and learning problems, and slow growth in children. This can start if an unborn child is exposed to lead in its mother’s womb, or if children are exposed to lead dust, which can happen when old lead-based paint begins to flake and leach into the dust and soil around your home.

Licensed Lead Paint Testing Services – Montgomery County

Bayhill Environmental’s technicians are licensed and certified to provide a thorough, efficient lead testing service to any home or property in Montgomery County. Using a specialized x-ray instrument called the XRF Gun, technicians are able to detect lead on painted surfaces, even if there are multiple coats of paint covering the original lead-based paint.

During your inspection, Bayhill Environmental technicians will determine whether your home is Lead-Free, or Lead-Safe. In the former case, this means your property has no lead in any painted surfaces. You will receive a Lead-Free Certification, and will never need another inspection. If lead is detected, technicians will move to a Lead-Safe Inspection. In this case, a special treated dust-wipe is used to collect particles, which will then be sent to a laboratory. If no active lead dust is found, your property will be certified Lead-Safe, which is valid for two years, or as long as a tenant occupies a unit. If a family with children age six or under moves in after this two-year period, re-inspection is required. Repair and remodeling work can often stir up lead dust, so it’s especially important to re-test after contractors have been in your property.
